Have a Lovely Weekend

This weekend is going to be super low key for me.  I’m thinking reading, bubble baths, yoga, Netflix, a museum day and maybe some tinkering with this cookbook.  Also, The Oscars are finally here (February 28th)!  I can’t wait for the who-wore-it best lists and awkward and/or wonderful acceptance speeches.  In the meant time, here’s some stuff I found around the web this past week, happy clicking!

There are few things I enjoy more than Jimmy Fallon’s wheel of Musical impressions.  I just watched this one for the first time and loved it.  Here is another one of my favorites with Kevin Spacey.

Want more Full House?  Netflix has only one thing to say, “You got it dude.”  Fuller House  premieres tonight.

Can we just talk about how beautiful these plates are?

This Oscars quiz  is a toughie.

How killer does this dish sound?

I’m biting the bullet and getting bangs (think Kate Moss and Brigitte Bardot) this coming week.  What do you think?

Trust me, you NEED these jeans in every color in your wardrobe.  They’re like yoga pants, they will make you fall back in love with tucking in your shirt all over again.

Doesn’t this cocktail sound so nice?

Aerie has buy one, get one 50% off on all of their swimwear.  I’m loving this onethis one, ooh and this one too.

Have such a wonderful and relaxing weekend and I’ll meet you back here Monday.  xoxo

Happy Friday!

Diane Keaton and Woody Allen, Annie Hall (1977)

Hi Everyone!

Let me start by saying, I’m sorry I stood you up.  We have this deal that I’ll be there on Mondays and I wasn’t and I’m sorry.  To make up for it, here are some little gems I saw on the web this week that I absolutely had to share.  I’ve got a well balanced weekend planned of equal parts work and play.  Saturday will be spent at a food and wine festival and Sunday my friend and I have scheduled an indulgent afternoon and a local spa.  In between, I will be purging my kitchen and, much to my chagrin, my closet.  I’ll also be spending some quality time with my storage unit sorting through junk and probably combating the bugs that have nested in said storage unit.  What do you have planned?

With the holidays coming up these books look like such great gifts.  I’d love to have a whole library filled with these collections.  I’d also just love to have a library…

I’m just about to finish this book.  It’s a fun and quick read filled with lots of wit and honesty.

This movie just came out and I’m dying to see it.

This video with Bryan Cranston and Stephen Colbert is absolutely dynamite.

If you’re a sucker for romantic moments, you should read some of these ring stories from Stone Fox Bride.  The rings are unique and the stories are human and lovely.

I thought this quiz was kind of neat.  I got Debbie Harry, what about you?

I think I might try these before I got to bed tonight.

Bulldogs have the best advice.

I love candles and I especially love these new ones from Diptyque.  They’re pricey but they last forever and they smell AMAZING.

I hope you have an absolutely wonderful weekend.  See you Monday, I promise.  Tell me what you’re up to!

Better Late Than Never… Right?

Happy Friday

Happy Friday

Sorry I’m a little behind, I promise I didn’t forget about you!  How was everyone’s week?  Apartment hunting was beyond successful.  I managed to find a perfect little apartment on a perfect little street and  couldn’t be more pleased.  It’s about half the size of the apartment I’m in now so it’s going to require some major de-cluttering on my part.  Any of you have any suggestions for down sizing and reorganizing?  Anyways, here are some sharables to get your weekend started on the right foot.

Write a number one pop song, remember us when you’re famous?

Because Rembrandt

I picked this lip exfoliating set up at Sephora earlier this week and I’m kind of loving it.

I’m headed to go see this movie with my good friend Erin tonight.

Having a hard time deciding on a Halloween costume?  Want to confirm your costume’s originality? This new site from Google can help you out.

Did any of you read this article in The New York Times this past Sunday?  It’s sort of heartbreaking but also really lovely.  I can’t urge you enough to read it.

How do you plan to spend your 48-hours of freedom?

If You Haven’t Done This yet You Should

Party of 1

Party of 1

I’m talking about going to the movies alone. I went this weekend the night before I took off for Boston and it was really nice. I went to go see the new Tom Hanks movie (I highly recommend it).   There was this crazy moment when I first walked in to the theatre and there was absolutely no one in it. It was library-level quiet and I was hoping that I would get the theatre to myself but, alas, three other solo moviegoers crashed my private viewing.

Nonetheless, it really felt like a treat. It kind of feels like you’re taking yourself on a date except you can go in sweatpants and you don’t have to share the popcorn.  If you haven’t gone to see a movie by yourself I absolutely insist that you do. I do it pretty regularly and I enjoy it every single time. I’m a big proponent of random acts of self-care.

What do you do to show yourself a little TLC?
